Building Aidan's Community, known as the 'BAC', is a group of people from the parish who meet on the fourth Monday of the month from September to May (excepting December) for worship, learning and a fine meal!
A typical meeting consists of a Holy Communion at 6 p.m. followed by a ‘Meet and Greet’ to 7 p.m. then a fine dinner and dessert. A guest speaker or other presentation, with a question and answer period, commences at 7:30 p.m. A short business meeting follows the presentation.
The group hosts speakers and presentations on a variety of topics and interest. Everyone is welcome to attend a 'BAC' meeting.
The BAC raises money from events such as Parish Breakfasts and Barbecued Chicken Dinners, using it to fund projects in support of St. Aidan’s.
If you are interested in attending a BAC meeting please contact the church office at 613-733-0102. You will find friendship with those who share enjoyment of faith, food and fellowship.
St. Aidan’s Ladies Guild meets after Easter, in June, September and December. They hold a number of fundraising events including catering of the Building Aidan's Community monthly dinners and an annual Valentine Bake Sale. Funds are used to support the ministry of St. Aidan’s. Because these women care about those in need they also support several outreach projects including:
- Providing lunch to the Hi Horizons Group meeting at McKay United Church (a group for developmentally disable adults)
- Making ongoing donations of clothing and personal care items to The Well/ La Source (a ministry to women who are insecurely housed and living in poverty)
-Collecting donations of fresh fruit for the Heron Road Emergency Food Centre
St Aidan’s offers occasionally prayer workshops and labyrinth workshop that teach people how to deepen their spiritual life.
